Who are you?

I’m Leida Capella-Robinson.  I came to Vail thirteen years ago via the military.  After 23 years as a military brat and 21 years as a military wife, my husband, Joe, and I along with our four children chose Arizona as our forever home.

What motivated you to join the ReSources team?

I started my volunteer “career” as a 14-year-old Red Cross candy striper in an Army hospital in Okinawa and I loved giving of my time to our community. Now in Vail, I wanted to see how I could help in this community and the food bank was a great fit for me.

What’s your favorite part about living in Vail?

The Vail community is small but has such a big heart! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! I knew I could feel right at home here.

What is your hope for Vail’s future?

As Vail grows, I hope that its heart also continues to grow.  I want new and old residents to see each other as neighbors and continue to lend a helping hand to each other.

Who are you?

I’ve been a Vail resident since 2009 when my family moved here from Massachusetts.  My husband was relocated by Raytheon to the Tech Park and we have lived here ever since.  We have two sons that have graduated from the Vail schools, our oldest is a student at ASU.

What motivated you to join the ReSources team?

I bring with me several years of retail experience as well as my experience as a food bank volunteer prior and since ReSources opening in Vail.  I like the idea of combining both of these works to help neighbors in need.

What’s your favorite part about living in Vail?

What I like best about living in Vail is that Vail is a small town with a big heart.  It’s also a great place to raise a family and home to one of the most successful school districts in the state.

What is your hope for Vail’s future?

Since moving here in 1209 there have been five new schools built, the promise and delivery of a new grocery store, two new shopping centers and much more.  My hope is that Vail will continue to maintain that small town attitude while it’s rapidly expanding.

Who are you?

I am a veteran and a military spouse who started my career in the Tucson area in 1996.  Over the past 22 years, this is my 10th move and 3rd time back to Arizona.  My husband, two children and I plan on making Vail our forever home.

What motivated you to join the ReSources team?

I was interested in helping with the local school backpack program.  I started volunteering and realized that there were many needs and many ways to help within our community through ReSources.

What’s your favorite part about living in Vail?

I love the small town feel here.  I love that we know our neighbors and we take care of each other.

What is your hope for Vail’s future?

My hope is that we can keep our community’s identity while continuing to grow.
