We are here to help.
It is the daily calls from residents facing a variety of problems including hunger and/or inadequate funding for housing or other necessities. It is seniors needing help with transportation and other caregiving services. It is individuals with questions about health care resources, medical equipment or more.
Everyday, ReSources helps many local individuals and families obtain the vital necessities that they might otherwise be forced to go without.
ReSources Vail Food Bank provides food for low income-seniors, individuals and families struggling with financial hardship. This includes monthly food and holiday boxes, as well as supplemental food items, diapers and personal hygiene items. Our food bank serves households throughout the greater Vail community.
ReSources Senior Meal Program benefits home-bound, physically challenged or convalescent individuals in several ways, but most importantly it provides balanced supplemental nutrition that is not carb and sodium heavy. Volunteers deliver 5 frozen, heat and eat, meals each week. Our service area is Corona de Tucson, Rita Ranch, Civano, and all neighborhoods in the Vail School District. The bonus for those who don’t get out often is seeing a friendly face at the door and having an opportunity for caring interaction.
ReSources Volunteer Drivers help frail and elderly citizens each year stay independent in their homes. Services are provided based on availability of volunteers, and include:
- Transportation to medical appointments
ReSources volunteers in conjunction with the Transition from School to Work group, TSW, fill and deliver packages of food to schools in the Vail School District each week while school is in session. The program is designed to provide an average of 1600 calories and 62 grams of protein to students that may fall short on the weekends. Students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program and are referred to ReSources by the Student Service Coordinator, SSC, at each school.
In an effort to serve Vail by providing goods necessary in everyday life, fifty dollar gift vouchers are provided to clients in the Vail School District twice each year. These vouchers allow unrestricted shopping at Vail Depot Thrift Store.
Holiday Meal Program
ReSources Holiday Meal Program has expanded thanks to our partnership with the new Safeway at the corner of Colossal Cave Road and Mary Ann Cleaveland. The program now includes meals to be distributed at Thanksgiving and Christmas for our Vail clients, (85641 and 85747 zip codes).
ReSources gives our community’s most vulnerable residents a hand-up to changing and improving the quality of their lives.
